Our Story: “ReJeweled”
ReJeweled empowers girls by teaching them creative, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills, while building self esteem and nurturing positive relationships.
This program helps girls build creative, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills. We strive to provide a fun, positive, and safe environment for girls to connect with their peers and successful women/role models from their community.
ReJeweled is a program offered by Mentoring Positives, Inc, and is a part of Mentoring Positives’ Leadership Academy
ReJeweled currently serves elementary, middle & high school aged girls living in the Darbo/Worthington Park neighborhood, who are “at-risk”.
Due to the growing trend of girls involved in at-risk behaviors and criminal activity, prevention is necessary. Mentoring Positives, Inc. (MP) has worked with at-risk youth for over 9 years. Through mentoring, Skills Development Groups and other programming, a number of at-risk youth have been given the opportunity to engage in positive activities with dedicated and experienced mentors who ultimately see the youths’ potential to become competent community leaders.
Creating, marketing, and selling jewelry is just the “hook” to engage these adolescent
girls so that they may be able to drive their independence and give them the skills to become leaders and young entrepreneurs in our community.
