Boys’ Programming

BOYS GROUP

  • Location: 414 Rethke Ave, Madison, WI 53714
  • Age requirements: BOYS Middle School aged
  • Time/Date: Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-7:00pm
  • Objective: Provide positive programming for middle school aged boys. The program provides educational and recreational experiences through positive peer mentoring, life skills development, and positive social interaction. Our hope is that participants will improve in their ability to make better decisions, inspire them to be strong, have a positive self image, and gain confidence. Field trips include UW-Madison, and other college campuses, YMCA, etc.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT GROUP

  • Location: 414 Rethke Ave, Madison, WI 53714
  • Age requirements: BOYS High School aged and older
  • Time/Date: Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-7:00 pm
  • Objective: Provide positive programming for high school aged boys. The program provides competency development curriculum, guest speakers, all using basketball as the “hook” to engage youth. Group discussions begin each group. Activities include positive peer mentoring, life skills development, and positive social interactions. Our hope is that young men will improve in their ability to make better decisions, inspire them to be strong, have a positive self image, and gain leadership skills and confidence.

“OFF THE BLOCK SALSA”: Off the Block Enterprises

  • Location: 414 Rethke Ave, Madison, WI 53714
  • Age requirements: BOYS High School aged and older
  • Time/Date: TBD
  • Objective: Provide positive programming for high school boys and young adults. The program introduces youth/young adults to entrepreneurial experiences with positive peer mentoring, and small business/ life skills development through urban agriculture, teaching them not only how to harvest vegetables but also how to process it into salsa, and then market and sell their homemade salsa.
